Funerals

If you've lost someone, I am so very sorry.  I know you must be feeling many, many emotions right now.

Often people feel that when they are mourning a loved one, they would like an official "religious person" around, even if they don't at other times.  Some people feel a little more in touch with their spirituality, other people feel less so.  Sometimes people just want a ceremony to honor the life lost.  Or just to gather with all the people who loved this person to laugh and tell stories.  Whatever it is you need, I am here for you.

I can help you with your loved one's funeral, memorial service, or celebration of life.  I can work with your funeral home, or with you on a service that is separate from them.

I'll sit down with you to ask you about your loved one, and I'll invite others who loved them to come with you, and I'll help you share stories together.  What did you love about this person?  What values did they base their life upon?  What was their spirituality like?  Sometimes this conversation is the very beginning of healing.

Then I'll work with you to create a service that meets the needs of your family or friends, and honors the memory of your loved one.  We'll use the traditional resources that are helpful to you, or create a service just for you.

And I'll be there to talk with you and other loved ones about the feelings of grieving, and what you might expect in the coming months.
